Calling all London fans: on Wednesday 18th March, the Barbican are screening an exclusive preview of the film Broken English, the career-spanning portrait of Marianne ahead of its UK & Ireland theatrical release on 20 March 2026 followed by live music performances from the film’s house band: Anna Calvi, Rob Ellis, Ed Harcourt, Anna Phoebe, Adrian Utley (Portishead). The band will be joined by a line up of special guests, each singing songs from across Marianne’s career.
Directed by BAFTA nominees Iain Forsyth and Jane Pollard, ‘Broken English’ stars Tilda Swinton, George MacKay, Nick Cave, Suki Waterhouse and Courtney Love and draws on interviews, archival material to traces a life shaped by fame and reinvention across six decades and 30 albums.
